Hundreds of studies have shown that when you show a dog what to do and positively reward it as soon as it is done, it will not only learn the behavior quicker, the dog will gladly preform the behavior for you.  This creates a bond between you and your dog that force, punishment and anger will never create!  Words mean nothing to a dog that hasn't learned the motion/behavior first.  Then you can start the voice cue.   It is an easy concept that old-school training does not do.
